INTESTINAL CRYPT CELL IN VITRO EXPERIMENTAL MODEL FOR FUNCTIONAL BIOACTIVE ANALYSIS
    (TANUVAS, Chennai, 2017) Kaviyarasi, K.; Mangalagowri, A.; Senthilkumar, T.M.A.; Hemalatha, S.; TANUVAS
Adult stem cells are crucial for maintaining proper function and repair of tissues. The unique intestinal orchestration makes the crypt as one of the most accessible models for the study of adult stem cell biology. Intestinal stem cells reside at the crypt base and give rise to all cell types found Within the crypt.

STANDARDIZATION OF PRESERVATION TECHNIQUES TO ESTABLISH BOVINE COLOSTRUM BANK
(TANUVAS, Chennai, 2015) Ramya, S. Bhavani; Ramasamy, D.; Gopi, H.; Senthilkumar, T.M.A.; TANUVAS
Bovine colostrum plays a vital role in health and nutrition and it is also a protecting agent against various diseases. In the present scenario, the surplus colostrum after feeding the calves is not fully utilized, as there is no procurement value for colostrum. The establishment of colostrum bank would link the rural farmers and the needy urban people. This helps in improving the economic status of the farmers and health status of the urban consumers. In the present study,

EXPRESSION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF RECOMBINANT LOA 22 GENE OF Leptospira interrogans AND EVALUATING ITS DIAGNOSTIC POTENTIAL IN CANINE LEPTOSPIROSIS
(TANUVAS, Chennai, 2015) Sugumar, P.; Meenambigai, T.V.; Senthilkumar, T.M.A.; TANUVAS
Leptospirosis is a worldwide zoonotic disease casused by pathogenic spirochetes of the genus leptospira. All recognized species of Leptospira are categorized into 29 serogroups and 250 serovars based on the expression of surface-exposed lipopolysaccharide. The pathogenic L. interrogans is a facultative parasite and their outer membrane proteins play a vital role in host pathogen interactions and pathogenesis of disease.

CLONING OF AN OUTER MEMBRANE PROTEIN GENE OF PATHOGENIC LEPTOSPIRAL SPECIES IN PROKARYOTIC EXPRESSION SYSTEM
(TANUVAS, Chennai, 2014) Ushanandhini, K.N.; Senthilkumar, T.M.A.; Mangalagowri, A.; TANUVAS
Leptospirosis is a well known zoonotic disease caused by members of the genus Leptospira. It’s also one of the major economic burdens in livestock and domestic animals. These are highly invasive spirochaetel pathogens capable of infecting a broad range of mammalian hosts. The pathogenic L. intermgans are facultative parasites and their outer membrane proteins play a vital role in host pathogen interactions and pathogenesis of the disease.

PREPARATION, CHARACTERIZATION AND IN VITRO TRANSFECTION ANALYSIS OF CHITOSAN BASED NANOPARTICLES
(TANUVAS, Chennai, 2013) Priya, Y.; Senthilkumar, T.M.A.; Mangalagowri, A.; TANUVAS
Gene therapy is a modern medicine in the present decade to treat many diseases. It is promising a great future in saving many lives in the present world. Based on this, we developed chitosan nanoparticles which can be used as vehicle to transfect the plasmid DNA pEGFP-C1 expressing green fluorescence in the host cells. It was prepared by ionic gelation with polyanions to couple with plasmid and transfect the plasmid into host cells.

MICROENCAPSULATION TECHNIQUE TO IMPROVE THE DELIVERY OF IMMUNOMODULATORY PROBIOTIC BACTERIA IN CHICKEN
(TANUVAS, Chennai, 2017) Saravanan, T.S.; Parthiban, M.; TANUVAS; Raj, G. Dhinakar; Karunakaran, R.; Senthilkumar, T.M.A.
Modulation of host immunity is one of the proposed benefits of the consumption of probiotics and microencapsulation is an ideal technique to improve the storage viability of consortia of probiotics containing imrnunomodulatory lactic acid bacteria and it is also an ideal delivery technique to deliver the same to broilers.

DESIGNING AND FIELD EVALUATION OF LURE AND KILL TRAPS FOR THE HOUSE FLY MUSCA DOMESTICA
(TANUVAS, Chennai, 2017) Sundar, S.T. Bino; Harikrishnan, T.J.; TANUVAS; Latha, Bhaskaran Ravi; Sarathchandra, G.; Senthilkumar, T.M.A.
Lure-and-kill traps using attractant baits and pheromone (Z)-9-tricosene were fabricated and field tested to trap Musca domestica. Bioassay using single cage dual port olfactometer for food bait preference in house flies revealed fish meal to be most attractive followed by molasses and sugar in both “no choice” and “choice” bioassay.

MOLECULAR STUDIES ON ENTERIC MICROFLORA IN CAPTIVE STAR TORTOISES (Geochelone elegans)
    (TANUVAS, Chennai, 2017) Prabhudev, D.K.; Senthilkumar, A.; TANUVAS; Senthilkumar, K.; Senthilkumar, T.M.A.
The study was carried out ill the captive Star Tortoises (Geochelone elegans) from different captive facilities such as Chennai Snake Park Trust. Gnindy. Arignar Anna Zoological Park. Vandalur and Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens. Mysuru. The endoparasitic prevalence was assessed with the faecal samples collected from captive Star Tortoises reared at various captive facilities.
