Abstract
The National Demonstration Programme was launched in the country in the year 1965-66. Later, the programme was sponsored by Indian Council of Agricultural Research in the year 1967 with a view to show the yield potentialities of different crops per unit area, per unit time. It has opema up a mow chapter in the history of rapid transfer of appro priate agricultural technology even in rainfed areas. Dut unfortunately, very few studies were undertalan to assess the impact made by these National Demonstrations on the levels of knowledge and adoption of package of practices by the parti cipant farmers. Therefore, keeping those facts in mind, the present study entitled "Impact of National Demonstration Pro gramme in Ranchi District" was undertaken. The specific objec tives of the study were as follows:
(1) To measure the levels of knowledge of participants and non-participants about the package of practices of paddy and wheat.
(2) To study the attitudes of participants towards National Demonstration Programma.
