Abstract
The present investigation entitled “Effect of organic manures and liquid formulations on growth, yield and quality of cauliflower (Brassica oleracea var. botrytis L.) cv. Pusa Snowball K-1” was carried out at Horticulture farm, Department of Horticulture, Rajasthan College of Agriculture, MPUAT, Udaipur during Rabi season in two consecutive years 2018-19 and 2019-20. The eighteen treatment combinations comprised of three kind of organic manures and six types of liquid formulations was evaluated on cauliflower crop with three replications under split plot design. Results showed that among organic manures application of M3 treatment (i.e. FYM 1/3rd + PROM 1/3rd + NC 1/3rd equivalent to 100% RDN) was recorded with significantly highest plant height, number of leaves, length of leaves, width of leaves, girth of stem, number of days required for curd initiation, number of days required for marketable curd maturity, diameter of curd, average curd weight, yield per plot, yield per hectare, TSS, ascorbic acid content, compactness of curd, curd colour, keeping quality and PLW, net returns, B:C ratio, soil properties and also upon microbial populations of soil while, in case of liquid formulations L1 treatment (i.e. panchagavya @ 3% spray) was reported with significantly maximum plant height at harvest, number of leaves at harvest, length of leaves, width of leaves, number of days required for marketable curd maturity, diameter of curd, average curd weight, yield per plot, yield per hectare, TSS, ascorbic acid, compactness of curd, curd colour, keeping quality & PLW, net returns and B:C ratio. Further, among 18 treatment combinations, treatment N13 [i.e. FYM 1/3rd + PROM 1/3rd + NC 1/3rd equivalent to 100% RDN (M3) and panchagavya @ 3% spray at curd initiation and 15 DACI (L1)] showed significant highest average curd weight (0.747 kg), yield per plot (14.94 kg), yield per hectare (276.7 q/ha), TSS (7.6%), compactness of curd (9.41), net returns (Rs.3,41,732.98/ha) and B:C ratio (3.38) of cauliflower crop
