entrepreneurial activities viz. goat farming, poultry production, vermicompost
production and vegetable production were selected. From each of the three KVKs, 75
tribal women from the selected entrepreneurial activities were taken randomly to
make a total sample of 225 respondents. Questionnaire and interview schedule were
used to collect data. Frequency, percentage, mean percent scores, mean weighted
scores, paired t test and F-test were used to analyze the data.

production of all three KVKs were in high adoption category while all the
208
respondents of vegetable production were in high and medium adoption category and
none of the respondents from all selected agro based entrepreneurial activity was in
poor adoption category. Respondents faced mainly marketing and operational
constraints in goat farming whereas financial, marketing and operational constraints
were faced by the respondents in poultry production, vermicompost production and
vegetable production. Regarding economic empowerment of tribal women, it was
found that among the four enterprises vegetable production was found to be maximum
profitable enterprise with overall annual income of Rs. 128,16,700 followed by
vermicompost production (Rs.11,15,750), poultry production (Rs.7,52,200) and goat
farming (Rs.3,11,233). Majority of the respondents were satisfied from their income
as they were able to contribute in family expenditure. It was found that respondents
were involved in decision making about economic matters and majority of them had
good access and control over resources.
