    A STUDY ON THE ANTI-ARRHYTHMIC ACTIVITY OF DIPHENYL HYDANTOIN SODlUM

    The effects of Diphenyl hydantoin Sodium (DPH) on Cedilanid induced cardiac arrhythmias were studied in dogs. The mean arrhythmogenic dose(MAD) of Cedilamid was found to he 213±16.4 microgrammes per Kilogram. DPH promptly reversed Cedilanid induced cardiac arrhythmias into normal sinus rhythm but it lasted only for 3mts. Repeated administration is necessary to prevent recurrence of arrhythmias DPH at the rate of 1.6 mg/kg afforded significant protection against Cediianid induced Cardiac arrhythmias.

    R-O-i Blood Group System in Nilagiri Sheep*

    R-O-i blood group system in 161 aduit Nilagiri sheep were studied. Among the animals typed, eighty belonged to group R, 59 to group O and 22 to group i. The gene frequencies were 0.35 and 0.65 for R and r, and 0.63 and 0.37 For I and i respectively.

    The Differentiation of Beef from from Buffalo Flesh by Immuno Double Diffusion Test*

    Hyperimmune sera were prepared against buffalo flesh and beef in rabbits and after absorbing the hetarologus components, the sera were successfully tested against known aqueous meat extracts by the immuno double diffusion test on agar gel.
