Wound Healing Activity of the Chloroform Extract of Plumbago rosea Linn. and Plumbagin
    (2006) Saraswathy, A.; Chandran, R.V. Pradeep; Manohar, B. Murali; Vairamuthu, S.; TANUVAS
The wound healing activity of plumbagin and the chloroform extract of Plumbago roxea Linn. (Yoot), incorporated into ointments with yellow soft paraffin, have been investigated on rats. Wound healing activity was studied using excision and incision wound models in rats following topical application. Both plumbagin and the Plumbago rosea root extract produced a significant response in both of the wound models studied.

Induction of apoptosis by fungal culture materials containing cyclopiazonic acid and T-2 toxin in primary lymphoid organs of broiler chickens
    (2005) Kamalavenkatesh, P.; Vairamuthu, S.; Balachandran, C.; Manohar, B. Murali; Raj, G. Dhinakar; TANUVAS
Thirty-six, twenty-eight-day-old broiler chicks were randomly distributed into three groups of 12 birds each. Two groups were fed diets containing 10 ppm cyclopiazonic acid (CPA) and l ppm T-2 toxin, respectively, to determine the mechanism of cell death in spleen and thymus at 6, 12, 24, and 36 h of post- treatment.

Immunopathological effect of the mycotoxins cyclopiazonic acid and T-2 toxin on broiler chicken
    (2005) Kamalavenkatesh, P.; Vairamuthu, S.; Balachandran, C.; Manohar, B. Murali; Raj, G. Dhinakar; TANUVAS
Forty, newly hatched, unsexed broiler chicks were fed diets containing 10 ppm cyclopiazonic acid (CPA)and l ppm T-2 toxin (T2) either individually or in combination for 28 days to study the immunopathological effects. Lymphoid organs revealed lymphocytolysis and lymphoid depletion in all toxin fed birds.

ISOLATION AND IDENTIFICATION OF HYDROPERICARDIUM SYNDROME VIRUS FROM OUTBREAKS IN TAMILNADU
(Indian Veterinary Association, 2002-11) Vairamuthu, S.; Raja, A.; Balasubramaniam, G.A.; Manohar, B. Murali; TANUVAS

It was mainly seen in commercial broiler chicks aged 3-5 weeks and was characterised by hydropericardium filled with straw coloured fluid in the pericardial sac. No clinical signs except sudden death upto 60-70% (Ahamed et aI., 1989) could be observed.
