Abstract
More or less constant environmental temperatures above 90°F especially if combined with high humidity, have a depresent effect on feed consumption, growth, egg production and egg size. Studies in Arizona U.S A. have shown as much as 20 to 30°/0 reduction in feed intake of chickens during the hottest period of the year, mainly, it is assumed, because of a decreased requirement for energy in a hot environment.
