dc.description.abstract“Studies on Fusarium oxysporum f.sp.radicis cucumerinum causing root and stem rot of cucumber and in vitro assay for management” Kalpana Yadav* Dr. N.L.Meena The present study was undertaken in cucumber stem and root rot disease caused by Fusarium oxysporum f.sp.radicis cucumerinum (FORC) leading to rotting of stem, roots. The studies were aimed; Occurrence and pathogenecity of Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. radicis cucumerinum in field and polyhouse condition; cultural, morphological and pathological variability of the pathogen in different isolates and develop management strategy through fungicides, bio-agents and plant extracts. The disease samples of cucumber were collected from severely infected farmer’s field and polyhouse of Udaipur districts at different localities. Maximum disease incidence was recorded in Dabok, Udaipur and minimum recorded in polyhouse, RCA. In vitro cultural and morphological studies revealed that maximum colony diameter in FORC 5, and maximum size of macro and micro conidia measured in FORC 4. In case of pathogenic variability, disease incidence was found maximum in FORC 4 (80.00%) as virulent isolate and minimum (17.50%) in FORC 2 as least virulent isolate. Among management strategy, Carbendazim at 500 and 750 ppm concentration was found most effective against the pathogen. Azadirachta indica was also found effective at 30% concentration to reduce the growth of the pathogen. Trichoderma viride showed maximum suppression the pathogen by dual culture technique. * M.Sc.
