Abstract
Bluetongue is economicaliy important and is considered to be of such major
international concern that it has been given Office International des Epizootics list ‘A'
status. The acute economic losses due to BTV infections are mainly attributed to high
morbidity, mortality, abortions, stillbirths, foetal abnornamalities milk, meat and fleece
loss.
