Abstract
ABSTRACT
The present study entitled “Identification of priming treatments for Bell Pepper
(Capsicum annuum L.) by stability analysis” was undertaken in the Department of Basic
Sciences, Dr. Y.S. Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni- Solan 173230 (H.P.)
during 2014-2015. Secondary data on six parameters viz., Speed of germination,
germination percentage, seedling length (cm), seedling dry weight (mg), seedling vigour
index-1 and seedling vigour index-II for four storage periods were taken from
Department of Vegetable Science, and were subjected to the stability analysis. Significant
priming treatment × storage period suggested of different performance of priming treatments
under different storage period. Hence, Eberhart and Russell’s stability model was used to identify
stable priming treatments. Priming treatments T6, T12 and T18 were identified as stable
priming treatment with respect to speed of germination; T9, T14, T17 and T20 for
germination percentage (%); T3, T5, T6, and T7 for seedling length (cm); T12 for seedling
dry weight (mg); T6, T7, T8 and T9 for seedling vigour index I and T16, T21 and T22 for
seedling vigour index II. However, T6 was identified as stable priming treatment for most
of characters i.e. Speed of germination, Seedling length and Seedling vigour index I.
