Abstract
Total turnover of the poultry industry per annum is about 60,000 crores. India ranks 3"‘ place in world egg production. India ranks 4"‘ place in the world poultry meat production. ' Direct employment is around 30 lakhs. Indirect employment is around 200 lakhs. Poultry industry in India had made a rapid progress in last 3 decades. Annual growth of the industry is about 10% to 15%. India produces 350 crore Kgs of poultry meat per year (South India produces around 125 crore Kgs) Per capita consumption of poultry meat is 2.80 Kgs in India (Per capita
