dc.description.abstractIndian poultry population is three percent of the worldâ s poultry population.The country ranks fifth in egg production (34 billion eggs-as per statistics of 2004) and ninth largest in world poultry meat production (1.715 billion tons- as per statistics of 2004). The overall rank is seventeenth in world poultry production (anonymous 2006).
