Abstract
Antimicrobial agents are among the most dramatic examples of the advances of modern medicine. Antimicrobial therapy exploit differences in structure or biochemical function between host and microbes achieving selective toxicity, and therefore acting as â magic bulletsâ in the fight against infectious agents.
