Abstract
The study of cross reactivity among caprinsmycoplasman vis., Mycoplasma mycoides subsp. mycoides. M agalacties and arginini are very important for diagnostic as well as determination of specific, suitable and quick tests for identification purposes. Therefore, studies on the following serological tests were carried out for identification of mycoplasma. 1. In tube agglutination test, antisera raised against three species of caprine mycoplasmas gave a titre of 1 : 320 with their homologous antigens, while, in heterologous system anti-Mycoplasma mycoides subsp. mycoides serum agglutinated Magalactiae and I arvinini antigens upto 1:60 dilution. Similarly, anti-agalacticssarum agglutinated N. mycoldes subsp. mycaldosantiganupto 1150 dilution while M. arginini only upto 1:40. Anti-argininisorum gave a titre of 1:80 with mycoides subsp. mycoidasantion, whereas - agalactias gave titre only upto 1:40. These observations suggest more antigenic structural similarity between mycoides subsp. Bycoides and I agalactics as compared to –arginine. 2. The agar gel precipitation test revealed at least six precipitation lines among them, two were prominent in homologous system of mycoides subsp. mycoides. M. agalactiae and Harginini. In heterologous systems only three precipitation lines were observed among the different spacious of mycoplasmas.
