dc.description.abstract | Wasteland is defined as th land which is presently degraded and is lying unutilized except current fallows due to different constraints. Cultivable wastelands, having potentials for supporting vegetation and are not being properly utilised due to different constraints. Non-cultivable wastelands that have no potential to develop a végetable cover. India has total land mass of 329 million hectares. Ministry of agriculture estimated about half of the land area (175 million ha) are degraded. NWDB task was to bring 5 m.ha of land every year under fuelwood and fodder plantations. Low inputflow cost technology to achieve the objectives of NWDB is Silvipasture system. | en_US |
