dc.description.abstractThe term reticular formation (Formatio-reticularis or substantia reticularis) was first Introduced by the Anatomist Cajal (1909) in the early part of the nineteenth century to designate those parts of the brain stem which are made up of cells having various sizes and shapes lying scattered within its core and surrounded by a complied net work of fibers running in all direction (Riley, 1943).
