dc.description.abstractSolar energy is viewed as clean and renewable source of energy for the future. So the use of Photovoltaic systems has increased in many applications. That need to improve the materials and methods used to harness this power source. So Maximum power point tracking system is designed and implemented. The system composed of photovoltaic module and adaptive Perturb and observe controller implemented on MCU for controlling on/off time of MOSFET switch of a Buck-boost converter. The proposed maximum power point tracking controller for standalone photovoltaic system is tested FLCs based model designed by Matlab/Simulink program with graphical user interface (GUI) for entering the parameters of any array model using information from its datasheet, the results show that the controller have a response better than conventional controller applied on the same system. This thesis focuses on the laboratory development of 200W Buck-Boost converter based solar energy conversion system. It drives the converter interfaced and perturbation and observation (P&O) type maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithm for achieving the maximum energy yield. The work also presents the simulation and experimental evaluation of proposed system, under various abnormal conditions like abrupt change in solar radiation, temperature, misfire in the converter, change in load etc. The control system is implemented on a MCU board. Simulation and experimental results are presented using a laboratory 200W prototype of SECS to demonstrate the resulting improvements of the developed system and its control under steady-state and dynamic balanced/unbalanced conditions.en_US
