Abstract
The present study was conducted to compare and identify the ideal harvesting
stage of maize fodder harvested at different stages and to study the effect of fibrolytic
enzyme (FE) on the rumen in vitro gas production and in vitro dry matter digestibility.
The two maize fodder varieties, Hanuman117 and South African Tall were harvested at
75, 85, 95 and 105 days after sowing (DAS) were analysed. The proximate composition
percentage were significantly (P<0.05) influenced by different harvesting times. The
