Abstract
The present study was conducted on 180 desi birds to study the effect of different managemental systems on fertility, hatchability, hatch weight, growth, shank length, egg production, egg quality traits, carcass characteristics and survivability with the following objectives: 1. To study the growth and survivability of desi birds under both farm and village conditions during experimental period. 2. To study the age at first lay and egg production potential of desi birds under cage system of management. 3. To study meat production characteristics of desi chicken. 4. To study the egg quality traits. 5. To establish correlation among different economic traits of desi birds.
