dc.description.abstract | Anthrax is an ancient disease caused by Bacillus anthracis {B. anthracis), a Gram positive, spore-forming, rod-shaped bacterium. The disease is known for centuries. Robert Koch was the first to identify the etiological agent in 1876, by growing in pure culture, demonstrating its ability to form endospores and producing an experimental anthrax by injecting it into mice. | |
