Abstract
The study entitled "Study of Business Models of Wheat Crop in Kangra District of
Himachal Pradesh" provided an over view of the business model adopted by the farmers of the
selected area. Primary data consisting of 60 respondents was collected through questionnaire
method. The study's findings were presented in the form of a Business Model Canvas consisting
of key components. The canvas comprised of key partners such as universities/research
institutions, family members etc., key resources such as seeds, fertilizers etc., distribution
channel such as farmer to consumer (direct sale), customer segments such as local people and
various other components. The study suggests promoting cooperative societies/FPOs, providing
soil testing services, exploring value added products, diversifying the customer base, diversifying
marketing channels and training farmers to secure better deals. This study gains valuable insights
by taking into account the viewpoints and experiences of the surveyed farmers. These insights
can be used to improve productivity, profitability, and sustainability in wheat cultivation in
Kangra District.
