dc.description.abstractThe world poultry industry has grown to a mega industry and the broiler chicken industry has attained the second place in the world after pork. The chicken meat represents 29% of the total meat from farm animals. The enhanced growth in layer and broiler industry has become possible due to the strong consumer demand for product that are cheap, safe and healthy, 'fhere has been a rapid growth in the poultry industry over the last four decades due to the transformation from backyard stage to an organized dynamic agro-industry with growlh rates of 4-6% in layers and 8 10% in broilers, respectively.
