Abstract
on Assessment of soil fertility status of Pandariya village under Pamgarh block of Janjgir-Champa district (CG) was conducted during 2020 – 2021. Soil samples were taken on a random basis from the studied area's surface soil (0-15 cm). The goal was to create a GPS-based soil fertility map, and samples were tested for soil physicochemical properties, soil available macronutrients and micronutrients using standard laboratory techniques, as well as the correlation between different variables. Soil reaction (pH) of the studied area varied from 6.50 – 8.20, with an average value of 7.40, electrical conductivity (EC) varied from 0.12 – 0.56 dS/m, with an average value of 0.21 dS/m, and organic carbon varied from 0.21 – 0.75%, with an average value of 0.48%, in Vertisols. Soil available nitrogen varied from 100.02 – 205.85 kg/ha, with an average value of 161.01 kg/ha, available phosphorus varied from 6.27 – 27.29 kg/ha, with an average value of 15.27 kg/ha, available potassium varied from 275.34 – 491.96 kg/ha, with an average value of 360.93 kg/ha and available sulphur varied from 14.30 – 35.50 kg/ha, with an average value of 26.42 kg/ha in Vertisols. DTPA extractable iron of the study area varied from 5.84 – 10.88 mg/kg with mean 9.04 mg/kg, DTPA extractable manganese varied from 3.54– 9.76 mg/kg with mean 6.36 mg/kg, DTPA extractable copper varied from 0.32 – 0.98 mg/kg with mean 0.64 mg/kg, DTPA extractable zinc varied from 0.22 – 1.21 mg/kg with mean 0.59 mg/kg in Ventisols. EDTA extractable boron varied from 0.16 – 0.37 mg/kg with mean 0.25 mg/kg in Vertisols. Soil reaction (pH) had a substantial positive correlation with P and K, while a substantial negative correlation with Fe, Mn and Zn. The EC had a substantial positive correlation with N, P and K, as well as a substantial negative correlation with Fe and Mn. Organic carbon had a substantial positive correlation with N, P, K, Sand B while substantial negative correlation with iron and manganese.
