Abstract
An experiment was conducted at the College Agronomy
Farm of E.A. College of Agriculture, A nayid Campus, Anand
during rabi season of the year 192-u3 with a view to study
the response of wheat varieties (T. aestivum, L.) to seedrates
and levels of nitrouen.
Twenty four treatments involving combinations of
two varieties viz.., Kalyansona and HD 2236, three seedrates
(cC, 100 and 120 kg/ha) and four levels of nitrogen (90,
iC and 180 kg/ha) were studied in split plot design
..-Lth t.re replications.
ariet: Kalyansona was sicniiicantly superior to

Regarding seedrates, 100 kg seedrate/ha proved to
LtbE best. Net
realization per hectare was also high
IU0 kg seedrate/ha.
Tte application of 120 kg and 150 kg nitrogen/ha
prociuCea sini±ic&fltlY higher grain yield by producing
higher number of grains per earhead, more effective
tillers per unit length and longer earhead than 90 kg
nitrogen/ha. The maximum net prottt per hectare was
obtained by the açpliCatiofl of 150 kg nitrogen/ha.
The interaction between variety x seedrate showed
significant effect on number of grains per earhead only.
hi1e the interact-ion variety x nitrogen was found
significant in respect c number of effective tillers

The results thus revealed that variety K:ori
