Abstract
Field studies on „Impact of microclimate on growth and yield of Bt Cotton under different growing environments‟ was conducted at the research area of the Research Farm, Cotton, Section, Department of Genetics & Plant Breeding, CCS HAU, Hisar during Kharif 2018. The main plot treatments consisted of three date of sowing viz., 16th of April (D1), 2nd of May (D2) and 22nd May (D3) and the sub-plot treatments consisted of three spacing viz., 67.5 cm x 60 cm(S1), 67.5 cm x 75 cm(S2) and 67.5 cm x 45 cm(S3). Nine treatment combinations were tested in split plot design in three replications. The 16th of April sown crop had highest GDD, PTU, HTU, HUE and RUE as compared to 2nd May and 22nd May sown crops. All growth parameters, yield and yield attributes were found highest in 16th April sown crop. Among different spacing, 67.5 cm x 75 cm consumed highest heat units, heliothermal units and photothermal units as compared to other spacing under different growing environments. HUE, RUE were highest in 67.5 cm x 75 cm. Seed cotton yield was positively correlated with temperature and negatively correlated with relative humidity in all three different spacings. Dry matter accumulation was found to be highest in 16th April sown crop and 67.5 cm x 75 cm while LAI was found to be highest in 16th April sown crop and 67.5 cm x 45 cm spacing. Positive correlation was found between crop parameters and temperature while negative correlation was found between relative humidity and crop parameters.
