Pathology of Muellerius Capillaris Infection in Free-Ranging Spotted Deer

Abstract
Muellerius capillaris infection was recorded in the free-ranging spotted deer by histopathological examination of lung samples. Out of ten samples that were screened, two were positive for Muellerius capillaris infection. Grossly, multifocal grey to dark brown nodules were embedded in the lung parenchyma. Histopathological examination revealed severe interstitial pneumonia with numerous Muellerius eggs, cross section of  rst stage larvae and adult worms in the alveoli, interstitium and bronchiole. Based on the gross and histopathological examination, Muellerius capillaris infection in the free-ranging spotted deer was con rmed.
