Abstract
The experiment entitled “Studies on effect of organic nutrition practices on Growthand Yield parameters of Papaya (Caricaxpapaya L.)Under precision farming techniques.”wasconductedat Research Farm of Precision Farming Development Center,Department of fruit science, College of Agriculture, IGKV, Raipur (C.G.) to find out the effect of organic nutrients on growth and yield. The experiment was conducted with twelve treatments and three replications in Randomized Block Design. The treatment consisted twelve different combination of organic nutrients along with biofertilizer and recommended dose of fertilizers viz. T1:RDF + Control, T2: RDF(80%) + 3 kg Vermi-compost /plant,T3: RDF(80%) + 1 kg Neem Cake /plant, T4: RDF(80%) + 1 kg Madhuka cake /plant, T5: RDF(80%) + 1 L Vermiwash /plant, T6: RDF(80%) + 1 L Cow urine/Plant, T7: RDF (80%)+ 1 L Neem seed extract /plant, T8: RDF(80%) + 50 g PSB/plant, T9 : RDF(80%) + 20 ml Pseudomonas straita /Plant, T10 : RDF (80%) + Vermiwash + Cow urine, T11: RDF(80%) + Vermiwash + Neem seed extract,T12 : RDF(80%) + Vermiwash (1 L) +Cow urine (1L) + Neem seed extract (1L).
Result revealed that T12: 80% RDF + Vermiwash (1 L) +Cow urine (1L) + Neem seed extract (1L) per plant shows higher vegetative growth (plant height, stem girth, petiole length,number of full grown leaves) while T1: RDF + control showed minimum vegetative growth was recorded.
All the above T12 showed earliest flowering and fruiting 80% RDF +Vermiwash (1 L) +Cow urine (1L) + Neem seed extract (1L) /plant, T1: RDF + control was late in flowering and fruiting. Similarly, under the same treatments maximum number of fruits, fruit length, fruit diameter, fruit volume, fruit weight, yield (63.72kg) per plant was noticed.
Fruit quality parameter such as maximum total soluble solid, minimum acidity, seed: flesh ratio and shelf-life was reported in T12: 80% RDF + Vermiwash (1 L) +Cow urine (1L) + Neem seed extract (1L) plant.Highest Benefit: Cost ratio (4.64) was recorded under the treatment T6: 80% RDF + Cow urine/ plant.
