Abstract
A study was conducted to assess the egg quality parameters of in indigenous Siruvidai and Peruvidai chickens of Tamil Nadu. A total of 11 Siruvidai chicken and 17 Peruvidai chicken eggs were subjected to this study. The shell colour of eggs of Siruvidai chicken is mostly light brown (58.33%) with lesser proportions of dark brown (25%) and light brown eggs (16.67%). The shell colour of Peruvidai chicken was predominantly light brown (41.18) followed by medium and dark brown (each 29.41%).
