Anand Agricultural University, Anand

Anand Agricultural University (AAU) was established in 2004 at Anand with the support of the Government of Gujarat, Act No.(Guj 5 of 2004) dated April 29, 2004. Caved out of the erstwhile Gujarat Agricultural University (GAU), the dream institution of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Dr. K. M. Munshi, the AAU was set up to provide support to the farming community in three facets namely education, research and extension activities in Agriculture, Horticulture Engineering, product Processing and Home Science. At present there seven Colleges, seventeen Research Centers and six Extension Education Institute working in nine districts of Gujarat namely Ahmedabad, Anand, Dahod, Kheda, Panchmahal, Vadodara, Mahisagar, Botad and Chhotaudepur AAU's activities have expanded to span newer commodity sectors such as soil health card, bio-diesel, medicinal plants apart from the mandatory ones like rice, maize, tobacco, vegetable crops, fruit crops, forage crops, animal breeding, nutrition and dairy products etc. the core of AAU's operating philosophy however, continues to create the partnership between the rural people and committed academic as the basic for sustainable rural development. In pursuing its various programmes AAU's overall mission is to promote sustainable growth and economic independence in rural society. AAU aims to do this through education, research and extension education. Thus, AAU works towards the empowerment of the farmers.

    INTRODUCTION: Indian Agriculture is in the tribes of change from tradition bound subsistence farming to scientific cultivation of land. Objectives of the study: 1. To study the training needs of the tribal farmers in the main items of training in relation to maize crop. 4.     Introduction: Farm Science Centre (KCK), Randheja has started its activation for training from January, 1979. Yet, there is no scientific and systematic effort has been made to study the types of farmers who have been trained in institutional training. Also there is a vast group of farmers who have not participated in the training programmes from the same area. It is therefore, important to study the increase in knowledge level and adoption of farm practices by the farmers who have trained in the training programmes. It is assumed that this knowledge would help in determining the vocational training needs of farmers with special references to its type and certain subject areas.Thus, this study provides practical utility for those who are concerned with farmers’ Training directly or indirectly. Hence the investigator thought to conduct this study.

In case of milk co-operatives, this influence; can be in terms of increase in knowledge and adoption of improved animal husbandry practices and change in economic and social conditions and attitude towards dairy farming etc. The major purpose o£ this investigation was to study the impact of Dudhsagar dairy, Mehsana in relation to animal husbandry practices on milk producers of Mehsana district.
