Abstract
Establishment of an institution, influences the people associated with it. In case of milk co-operatives, this influence; can be in terms of increase in knowledge and adoption of improved animal husbandry practices and change in economic and social conditions and attitude towards dairy farming etc. The major purpose o£ this investigation was to study the impact of Dudhsagar dairy, Mehsana in relation to animal husbandry practices on milk producers of Mehsana district. This study was structured around the following objectives; 1. To study the socio-economic characteristics of milk producers of dairy and control villages. 2. To study the difference in knowledge regarding animal husbandry practices between milk producers of dairy and control villages. 3. To determine the difference in adoption of following improved animal husbandry practices between milk producers of dairy and control villages. 1) Watering, 2) Feeding, 3) Housing, 4) Animal breeding, 5) Animal health care, 6) Clean milk production 4. To determine the level o£ adoption of improved animal husbandry practices in relation to characteristics of milk producers of dairy villages. 5. To get the opinion of milk producers of dairy and control villages about their milk marketing facilities. 6. To study the difference in attitude of milk producers of dairy and control villages towards dairy farming.
