ATTITUDE OF FARMERS TOWARDS ANUBHAV LIQUID BIO-FERTILIZER PHOSPHATE CULTURE IN ANAND TALUKA OF GUJARAT STATE
(AAU, Anand, 2014) DAMOR, CHIRAGKUMAR BACHUBHAI; Dr. Arun Patel
Economic status of the people in India mostly depends upon the agricultural production. Need for more intensive and economic agricultural production led to indiscriminate use of high doses of chemicals fertilizers, pesticides etc. Relentless use of these chemicals not only alter the ecosystem but also claim death to many lives every year due to their hazardous nature. After the green revolution, increase in food production was achieved at the cost of soil health. About 60 per cent of our agricultural land currently under cultivation suffers from indiscriminate use of irrigation water and chemical fertilizers. Many agricultural chemicals like pesticides, fungicides, herbicides, hormones and antibiotics leave residues in the foodstuffs that cause cancer or genetic damage. Also depletion of ozone layer is the major threat, which causes numerous unpredictable diseases, attacks to the crop, animal and human being. Thus, a natural balance needs to be maintained for survival and wellbeing of the human beings, plant and animal kingdom. The obvious choice for that would be adaptation of liquid bio fertilizer phosphate culture without compromising agricultural production.

GAP ANALYSIS OF PROFESSIONAL SOFT SKILLS AMONG GIRL STUDENTS OF AGRICULTURE FACULTY OF ANAND AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITY
(AAU, Anand, 2014) SAMRITIKA THAKUR; Dr. C. P. DESAI
As attitudes, expectations and employment in agriculture have changed, there is evidence that the skills and competencies of graduates do not meet the needs of today’s agricultural sector. The ‘new professional’ should, for example, be better able to work across different disciplines and in partnership with different stakeholders, understand the value chain and potential for profit and entrepreneurship at different stages. With increased attention to holistic and multi-disciplinary approaches to addressing challenges, agricultural professionals are expected to be able to integrate knowledge and practices from outside of their discipline and work within the multi-functionality of agriculture. As we move away from ‘business as usual’ we must integrate this new way of thinking into educational institutions and agricultural curricula. Realizing the significant role of agriculture graduates and postgraduate research scholars in the development of agriculture and economy of the country, a study on “GAP ANALYSIS OF PROFESSIONAL SOFT SKILLS AMONG GIRL STUDENTS OF AGRICULTURE FACULTY OF ANAND AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITY” was thought to be undertaken with the following objectives: 1. To study the profile of girl students of agriculture faculty of Anand Agricultural University. 2. To find out the gap of professional soft skills among the girl students. 3. To find out the relationship between profile of the girl students and their overall professional soft skills gap. 4. To collect opinion of the girl students regarding innovative ideas of teaching for developing professional soft skills. 5. To collect views of girl students regarding innovative ideas of learning for developing professional soft skills.

(AAU, Anand, 2014) PARMAR KARANSINH MANGALSINH; Dr. Sunil R. Patel
Growing of flowers and gardening have been practiced in India for many centuries. Use of flowers which has been largely limited to offering in temple is becoming an integral part of social, cultural and religious activities. Among different flowers, rose has a unique place and however, growing flowers on commercial base is a recent trade, rose growing has become one of the most profitable agro-based industries. Today, the cultivation of rose is recognized as a lucrative profession with potential of higher returns per unit area than the most of field and even some horticulture crops. However, for realization of potential of this crop, farmers should adopt scientific rose cultivation, for which it is of prime importance that they should first inculcate positive attitude towards rose cultivation. This fact led the researcher to make investigation in the direction of developing the scale and measuring the attitude of farmers towards rose cultivation. Further, rose cultivators might be facing many constraints because of which they could not exploit fully the potential of this crop. This also necessitates that the constraints faced by farmers in adopting rose cultivation should also be studied.
