    The occurrence of obstructive urolithiasis in animals particularly in cattle is of paramount economic importance. In India bullocks form the backbone of agricultural operations and prevalence of obstructive urolithiasis in these animals resulting in heavy mortality, there by causing a substantial economic loss to the farmers.

    Mandibular fracture repair presents several unique problems compared to long bone fractures. A mandible has a capability to withstand several forces when compared to weight bearing long bones. Presence of teeth in fracture line poses an additional problem. Loss of mandibular function results in lack of intake of fluid and food. The curved contour of mandible makes several orthopedic implants unsuitable for their application in mandibular fracture

    Livestock owners in India are mostly practicing free grazing system in animal husbandry. The inigated and rain fed lands are basically used for cultivating food and commercial crops. Use of land exclusively for fodder development is scanty. Farmers often face scarcity of fodder even to manage two to three animals. Growth of cities and towns, deforestation, constnjction of dams and extension of inigated lands have reduced the grazing area for livestock

    Healing of a fracture can be assessed by various radiographic techniques, of which osteomedullography is one. Osteomedullography is a radiographic technique which demonstrates the intraosseous venous circulation of bone marrow (Boobbyer, 1978). It is performed after intraosseous injection of water soluble contrast medium for investigating blood circulation within the bone marrow (Alitalo et a l, 1982).
