ThesisItem Open Access EFFECT OF OVARIAN FOLLICULAR FLUID OF DIFFERENT SPECIES ON IN VITRO MATURATION OF CAPRINE OOCYTES(KARNATAKA VETERINARY, ANIMAL AND FISHERIES SCIENCES UNIVERSITY , BIDAR, 2005-11) LAKSHMIKANTH, T.R.; M. DEVARAJ; A. KRISHNASWAMY; V .CHANDRASHEKARAMURTHYIndia possesses 136 million goat and stands 2^^ in the world in goat population, which occupy an important place in Indian farm economy mainly in meeting the demands for meat In recent times laboratory production of embryos is drawing keen attention because of its application in emerging technologies like cloning and transgenic animal production apart from embryo transfer. With large number of oocytes, goat serves as a suitable experimental model in embryo transfer technology, which has been developed for maximum exploitation of superior genetic material from female. Since the cost of production of embryos is very high, several efforts are being made by various research workers to economize the production by way of replacing the expensive components of culture media with less expensive ones. In order to reduce the cost of technology; conventionally used fetal bovine serum, an expensive component and hormones are being successfully replaced with steer serum, cow serum or follicular fluid (Gupta et al., 2001). Follicular fluid is primarily the transudate of plasma that contains specific constituents such as steroids, glycosaminoglycans and many other metabolites synthesized by the cells of the follicle wall (Wise, 1987). Recent studies have claimed the beneficial effects of follicular fluid in media used in IVM, subsequent fertilization (IVF) and development of pig (Naito, 1988), sheep (Sun et al., 1994) and cow (Kim et al., 1996) embryos.ThesisItem Open Access SEROPREVALENCE OF BRUCELLOSIS &LEPTOSPIROSIS AND ITS IMPACT ON REPRODUCTION OF RURAL DAIRY COWS(Karnataka Veterinary Animal And Fisheries Sciences University, Bidar, 2010) SHARATRAJ, JThe reproductive problems, characterized by infertility, embryonic death, abortions in cattle causes serious economic losses (McGowan and Kirkland, 1995).ThesisItem Open Access COMPARATIVE EFFICACY OF VARIOUS PREGNANCY DIAGNOSTIC TECHNIQUES IN KENGURI EWES(Karnataka Veterinary Animal And Fisheries Sciences University, Bidar, 2011) YAMANAPPAThe intensive sheep management and wide spread application of the controlled breeding techniques, such as artificial insemination and out-of-season breeding increase the need for an accurate and practical test for early pregnancy diagnosisThesisItem Open Access INFLUENCE OF THE HEAVY METAL, CADMIUM ON BUFFALO OOCYTE AND EMBRYO DEVELOPMENT IN VITRO(Karnataka Veterinary Animal And Fisheries Sciences University, Bidar, 2006) SUCHITRA, B.RIndia has over 103.13 million, or approximately 56.6% of the total world buffalo population and contributing more than 52 percent of milk production (FAO, 2005). The Reproductive efficiency of buffalo is influenced by a variety of factors such as genetic and environmental factors.ThesisItem Open Access STUDIES ON TERMINATION OF PREGNANCY IN BITCH WITH ANTI-PROGESTINS(Karnataka Veterinary Animal And Fisheries Sciences University, Bidar, 2007) PADMINI PRADHANOver the last 10-15 years, canine breeding has developed as an industry and consequently there has been a great interest in the breeding of pedigree dogs, particularly in urban areas. There have been instances of kennel owners even importing fancy breeds at an exorbitant price. Therefore, it is but natural for kennel owners to regularly approach the veterinarian to help them, in determining the right stage for mating, to diagnose the pregnancy early and to monitor the general health of the animalsThesisItem Open Access STUDIES ON COMPARATIVE EFFICACY OF NATURAL AND A SYNTHETIC PGF2â ANALOGUE FOR ESTRUS INDUCTION IN CROSSBRED DAIRY COWS(Karnataka Veterinary Animal And Fisheries Sciences University, Bidar, 2006) NARASIMHA MURTHYInefficient estrus detection and improper timing of artificial insemination are among the major causes for the failure of conception which results in prolonged service period, long calving intervals and reduced lifetime production which intum affects the profitability of dairy farming. In dairy cows, upto 40 percent of estrus periods may pass undetected inspite of normal ovarian cyclicity (Williamson et ah, 1972; King et al, 1976). Consequently, controlled breeding with induction of estrus and fixed time inseminations have gained importanceThesisItem Open Access STUDIES ON CERTAIN METABOLIC PROFILES IN PREGNANT EWES(Karnataka Veterinary Animal And Fisheries Sciences University, Bidar, 2011) MAHESHA, NIndia has 61.4 million sheep as per 2003 livestock census and ranks sixth in the world.ThesisItem Open Access IMPACT OF INFECTIOUS BOVINE RHINOTRACHEITIS (BHV-I) AND BRUCELLOSIS ON REPRODUCTIVE PERFORMANCE OF DAIRY COWS(Karnataka Veterinary Animal And Fisheries Sciences University, Bidar, 2009) RAVI. K.BThe reproductive problems characterized by infertility, embryonic death, abortions in cattle causes serious economic losses (Hou, 1995; McGowan and Kirkland, 1995).ThesisItem Open Access EFFICACY OF HORMONES ON FERTILITY IN KENGURI EWES(Karnataka Veterinary Animal And Fisheries Sciences University, Bidar, 2010) LEENA SAJJAN G.PSheep with its multi-fact utility for wool, meat, milk, skin and manure form an important component of rural economy particularly in the arid, semi-arid and mountainous areas of the country.
