ThesisItem Open Access DEVELOPMENTOF RELATIONAL DATABASE FOR ASSESSMENT OF DISTRIBUTION OF AREA, PRODUCTION AND PRODUCTIVITY OF MAJOR OILSEEDS (LINSEED, RAPESEED & MUSTARD, NIGER AND SESAMUM) IN DIFFERENT DISTRICTS OF BASTAR PLATEAU(Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya Raipur, 2016) Chawla, Komal; Singh, A.K.The planners are still not very sure of the production position of oilseeds and its contributing factors, (i.e. area and productivity). Chhattisgarh State has three agro climatic zones, Chhattisgarh Plains, Bastar Plateau and Northern Hills Region. The plateau region comprises of Bastar, Dantewada, Kanker, Narayanpur, Bijapur, Kondagaon and Sukma. Being predominantly tribal, Chhattisgarh has been drawing continuous attention of governmental agencies to improve the scenario of oilseed crop production. In the present study, an attempt has made to study the development of relational database for assessment of distribution of area, production and productivity of major oilseed crops (Linseed, Rapeseed and Mustard, Niger and Sesamum) in different districts of Bastar plateau agro-climatic zone of Chhattisgarh. Districts wise time series data for the period from 1983-84 to 2010-11 on oilseeds were utilized for the study. Time series secondary data on area, production and productivity of the major oilseeds viz. linseed, rapeseed and mustard, niger and sesamum crops were collected district wise and stored in the developed relational database using MS-Access-2007. The Statistical Software “R: The R Project for Statistical Computing”, was used for computer program writing, i.e. for coding, based on which predictive models were estimated for area, production and productivity along with growth rates. The predictive models included a unique feature of structural periodic effect to capture the cyclic pattern, if any, along with trend effect in the time-series data. This periodic effect was estimated for area, production and productivity of the oilseeds. Apart from this model as a first case, wherein 3-year or 4-year periodic cyclic effect was assumed along with annual effect working within it as a nested effect; another model was also assumed with an overall periodic variable in combination with overall trend effect without any nesting, for comparison with the first case and for prediction. Additionally, influences of area and productivity of the crops were also worked out to understand the impact of influencing factor (either area or productivity) on production. Some good models could be estimated for area, production and productivity, for which predictions were made for the next 8-9 years wherever model diagnostics permitted. Some good models could be estimated which are listed in a separate table. Predictions were made for such good fitted models wherever applicable. Similarly, production function models were also estimated for finding influences of area and productivity on the production. Some models, which were not fitted nicely, needed improvement and they are listed separately for both types of aforesaid models.ThesisItem Open Access USE OF FERTILIZER ON MAJOR CROPS BY FARMERS IN ARANG AND ABHANPUR BLOCKS OF RAIPUR DISTRICT(Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya Raipur, 2016) Vikas Kumar; Chandrakar, GayatriFertilizer consumption measure the quantity of plant nutrients used per unit of arable land. Fertilizer product covers nitrogenous, potash and phosphorus fertilizers. In Chhattisgarh state, area under net sown has 4800.66 thousand hectare. Major crops are paddy, wheat, jowar, pulses and oil seeds. Paddy is grown in 3756.80 thousand hectare which occupies about 78.25 percent of the net sown area of the state, whereas wheat grown in 177.78 thousand hectare and gram in 356.52 thousand hectare in the state. The average size of holding was 2.77 ha in Arang and 2.78 ha in Abhanpur block respectively. The sample farmers comprised pre-dominantly of other backward caste. Farmers of both the blocks Arang and Abhanpur growing crops paddy in kharif season, gram and wheat in rabi season and paddy in summer season. Tiwara were sowing as an utera crop and some farmers grown tur crop in bunds. Paddy crop covered highest cropped area 61.39 percent and 61.07 percent under kharif season in Arang and Abhanpur block. The cropping intensity was found in 162.88 percent and 163.74 percent respectively. The Quadratic and Cobb-Douglas model were fitted for the productivity of major crops on fertilizer use by the farmers under different categories for both the blocks. By comparing both the models, it was observed that for paddy and gram crop Quadratic were fitted better in Arang block , Quadratic model were fitted better for paddy and gram, whereas in case of wheat crop, Cobb-Douglas model was found better in Abhanpur block.ThesisItem Open Access DEVELOPMENTOF RELATIONAL DATABASE FOR ASSESSMENT OFDISTRIBUTION OF AREA, PRODUCTION AND PRODUCTIVITY OF CEREALS IN DIFFERENT DISTRICTS OF BASTAR PLATEAU AGRO-CLIMATIC ZONE OF CHHATTISGARH(INDIRA GANDHI KRISHI VISHWAVIDAYALAYA, RAIPUR, 2015) Sundaram, Shrity; Singh, A.K.ThesisItem Open Access “DEVELOPMENT OF RELATIONAL DATABASE FOR ASSESSMENT OF DISTRIBUTION OF AREA, PRODUCTION, AND PRODUCTIVITY OF PULSES IN DIFFERENT DISTRICTS OF CHHATTISGARH PLAIN”(INDIRA GANDHI KRISHI VISHWAVIDAYALAYA, RAIPUR, 2014) Verma, Varsha; Chandrakar, GaytriThesisItem Open Access “A Study of Milk Production Trend under Different Zones in India”(INDIRA GANDHI KRISHI VISHWAVIDAYALAYA, RAIPUR, 2011) Mishra, Sunil Kumar; Chandrakar, G.ThesisItem Open Access DESIGN, DEVELOPMENT AND VALIDATION OF DECISION SUPPORT SYSTEM FOR INSECT MANAGEMENT OF MAJOR CEREAL CROPS OF CHHATTISGARH(INDIRA GANDHI KRISHI VISHWAVIDAYALAYA, RAIPUR, 2014) Talware, Mithalesh Kumar; Saxena, Ravi R.ThesisItem Open Access “Development of Relational Database for Assessment of Distribution of Area, Production and Productivity of Major Cereals in different Districts of Chhattisgarh Plain”(INDIRA GANDHI KRISHI VISHWAVIDAYALAYA, RAIPUR, 2014) Sahu, Ghanandand; Lakhera, M.L.ThesisItem Open Access “Development of Relational Database for Assessment of Distribution of Area, Production and Productivity of Major Oilseeds in different Districts of Chhattisgarh(INDIRA GANDHI KRISHI VISHWAVIDAYALAYA, RAIPUR, 2014) Nishad, Dikeshwar; Chandrakar, G.ThesisItem Open Access “DESIGN, DEVELOPMENT AND VALIDATION OF DECISION SUPPORT SYSTEM FOR DISEASES MANAGEMENT OF MAJOR CEREAL CROPS OF CHHATTISGARH”(INDIRA GANDHI KRISHI VISHWAVIDAYALAYA, RAIPUR, 2014) Sharma, Akrishti; Saxena, Ravi R.
