Abstract
A total of 483 cattle milk samples were collected in 11 districts of Tamil Nadu and were subjected to Milk Ring Test (MRT) and milk Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay (m-ELISA) and reported 4.35 and 5.80 % of brucellosis respectively. Using m-ELISA as gold standard, MRT showed sensitivity, specificity and kappa value of 53.57%, 98.68% and moderate agreement (0.59) respectively. This study concludes that, MRT can be used as field level screening test in the diagnosis of bovine brucellosis.
