dc.description.abstractThis study was conducted to evaluate the production performance of TANUVAS Aseel in Western Zones of Tamil Nadu. 150 Day old TANUVAS Aseel chicks were obtained from TANUVAS-CPPM, Hosur and distributed to farmers in different blocks of Erode district. Body weight and Egg production parameters were recorded in farmer’s field at weekly interval upto 72 weeks of time. The traits studied were body weight, Average age at first egg, Livability, Egg weight egg production and body measurements. The mean values and standard errors of 20 th week body weight, Age at First egg and Egg production (20-40 weeks) were, 943 ± 07.82 g, 33.6 ± 0.17 g and 182 ± 2.34 days and 146 ± 4.88 respectively. The study was concluded that observed productive performance TANUVAS Aseel can serve as an alternate improved strain to boost up the backyard farming.en_US
