T The present investigation entitled “Effect of foliar sprays of Calcium Chloride, Putrescine and Salicylic acid on yield, fruit quality and shelf life of peach [Prunus persica (L.) Batsch.]”was carried out in the experimental block of the Department of Fruit Science, Dr. Y S Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni - Solan (Himachal Pradesh) during the year 2022-2023. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design (Factorial) consisting of ten treatments, replicated thrice. The treatments namely; Calcium Chloride, Salicylic acid and Putrescine were applied at pit hardening stage, 2 weeks before harvest and 1 week before harvest, respectively. The treatments were T1 : Calcium Chloride 1.0%, T2 : Calcium Chloride 1.5%, T3 : Calcium Chloride 2.0%, T4 : Salicylic acid 2.0 mM, T5 : Salicylic acid 3.0mM, T6 : Salicylic acid 4.0mM, T7 : Putrescine 2.0mM , T8 : Putrescine 3.0mM, T9 : Putrescine 4.0mM and T10: control (water spray). The results from the present investigation revealed that Calcium Chloride @ 1.0% and Putrescine @ 2.0mM significantly increased yield and physico-chemical characteristics of the fruits. However, the application of Calcium Chloride @ 2.0% also exhibited better storage performance and shelf life of fruits during 9 days of storage. Thus, the application of Calcium Chloride @ 1.0-2.0% can be used for enhancement of yield, quality and shelf life of fruits. Among two cultivarsunderstudy, Redhaven performed better than the Glohaven in terms of yield, fruit quality and shelf life.
