dc.description.abstract | Over a 28 months, 256 E. coli isolates were obtained from poultry as pathogens in various disease conditions. O1’ these 129 have been serotyped and the predominant 12 serotypes were 061 (13), 02 (12), 06(9), 038(5), 078 (5), 020 (4), 017, 0132, 068, 070 and 0120 (each 3). These serotypes were isolated from coliseptieaemia, air sac disease, oopharitis, dead in shell and enteritis. 0156 and 0158 were among the other 37 serotypess recorded in Tamil Nadu. The antibiotic sensitivity test revealed a variable trend of resistance to various antimicrobial agents Chlorophenicol, gentamycin, co-trimoxazole and neomycin werel found to be most effective antimicrobials against E. coli. | en_US |
