dc.description.abstract | The ability to haemagglutinate the red blood cells is a property of certain viruses like New castle Disease Viruses (NDV). In large scale testing programmes the collection, processing, field storage and transport of large number of sera samples poses a problem. Recently several authors have reported that serum may be obtained from whole chicken blood dried on filter paper for certain routine serological tests. These reports suggest that problems such as spillover, drying, breakage of glass etc., associated with conventional semm samples while being despatched can be avoided (Giambrone, 1981). | en_US |
