Abstract
The expression of TLR21 was studied in various organs viz., skin, muscle, gill, liver and intestine by Real time-PCR. Results showed that basal expression of TLR21 was present in the above tissues of zebra fish. A. hydrophila exposure induced the expression of TLR21 significantly in muscle, gill, liver and intestine. It can be concluded that TLR21 recognizes the A. hydrophila, gram-negative bacterial ligand and induction of TLR21 with such bacterial ligand would induce immune response and confer protection against bacterial diseases in fish.
