Abstract
Five dogs were experimentally inoculated with virulent Leptospira interrogans serovar Icterohaemorrhagiae and the disease spectrum was studied. Febrile reaction was observed for 4-7 days after infection. The clinical signs observed were pyrexia, anorexia, depression, congested conjunctiva and diarrhoea. Leptospiraemia was observed during the febrile period mostly on PID 4,5, 6 and isolation of leptospires was possible during the fist week. Leptospiraemia was first detected on PID-7 and intermittent after PID-2l. The kidney sections revealed leptospires.
