Abstract
An experiment entitled “Effect of weed management on productivity of transplanted Rice (Oryza sativa L.)” a field experiment was conducted at Agronomy Research Farm of Acharya Narendra Deva University of Agriculture and Technology, Kumarganj, Ayodhya (Utter Pradesh) during Kharif 2020. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block design with four replications. The treatment consisted of weed management practices (T₁- Pretilachlor @ 1.25 kg ha-1 (PE), T₂- Bispyribac sodium @ 25g a.i. ha-1 (POE), T3- Pretilachlor @ 1.25 kg ha-1 (PE) + Bispyribac Sodium @ 25 g a.i. ha-1 (POE), T4:- Hand weeding (20 and 40 DAT), T5- Weed Free (Till mature), T6- Weedy Check) was used. The results revealed that all the growth parameters and yield attributes were significantly influenced due to different treatments. The scrutiny of data of yield attributes clearly reveals that the application of weed free till mature gave significantly the highest value of growth , yield attributes and yields followed by hand weeding (T4). Among herbicides the Pretilachlor @ 1.25 Kg ha-1(PE) + Bispyribac sodium @ 25g a.i. ha-1 (POE) (T3) having more growth ,yield attributes and yield with other rest herbicides. The highest cost of cultivation of Rs.114146.00 per ha was incurred under treatment (T5) Weed free till mature due to higher labour cost followed by 2 hand weeding (T4) Rs.87833.00. The highest gross return (130420.4 ) was obtained with treatment (T5) weed free till mature. The highest net return (85577.00 ) was obtained with treatment (T3) Pretilachlor @ 1.25 Kg ha-1(PE) + Bispyribac sodium @ 25g a.i. ha-1 (POE). The highest benefit cost ratio (2.21) was obtained with treatment (T3) Pretilachlor @ 1.25 Kg ha-1(PE) + Bispyribac sodium @ 25g a.i. ha-1 (POE).
