dc.description.abstractExperiments were conducted to study the variability of Macrophomina phaseolina isolates collected from clusterbean growing regions of Rajasthan and adjoining places using ten molecular markers and ten clusterbean genotypes. Ten Trichoderma isolates and six Pseudomonas fluorescens isolates were studied using molecular markers. Twelve fungal and ten bacterial antagonists were tested against M. phaseolina under laboratory. The mode of antagonism against M. phaseolina was studied under both in vitro and in vivo conditions. Five bioagents viz., T. viride (Tv-BKN), T. harzianum (Th-BKN), T. atroviride (Ta- 15), P. fluorescens (Pf-18) and B. subtilis (Bs-15) were used alone and in combinations as seed treatment (ST), soil application (SA) and both ST+SA to evaluate their efficacy against dry root rot of clusterbean in green house condition. The induction of defense related enzymes i.e. PO, PPO, PAL, chitinase, β-1,3-glucanase, protease and the total soluble protein content in root tissues of two test clusterbean genotypes was studied under field conditions. Disease control efficacy of three selected bioagents used as seed treatment (ST) and soil application (SA) along with or without organic amendment and two botanicals was evaluated against Macrophomina dry root rot of clusterbean under field conditions. Plant growth parameters viz., disease incidence, root and shoot length and grain yield at harvest were recorded along with the population dynamics of M. phaseolina and three bioagents in rhizosphere soil was recorded.en_US
