Level of Vitamin A and Beta Carotene in the Blood Plasma of Normally Cycling and Anoestrous Buffaloes (Bubalus bubalis)

Abstract
The results of this study indicate that buffaloes in general have practically no plasma beta carotene. The mean levels of plasma vitamin A (mcg / 100ml) in farm bred anoestrous (43.26 ± 7.03) and cycling buffalo cows (43.45 ± 5.66) taken together, though higher than the urban anoestrous (28.87 ± 3.04) and cycling (30.73 ± 4.11) groups of buffalo cows, are statistically not significant. This points out that neither beta carotene nor vitamin A has any influence on anoestrous in buffaloes.
