Abstract
A field experiment entitled “Site Specific Nutrient Management in
Sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.)” was conducted during Rabi season of
2011 at ZARS, UAS, GKVK, Bengaluru. The experimental site was red
sandy loam in soil texture. The soil pH was slightly acidic in reaction.
The experiment consisted of six treatments laid out in randomized block
design with three replications. Application of soil test value based NPK
along with limiting micronutrient boron with FYM (5 t ha-1) and
Trichoderma has recorded significantly higher seed yield (2367 kg ha-1),
oil percent (41%) and oil yield (970 kg ha-1), higher growth and yield
parameters viz. plant height (154.8 cm plant-1), stem girth (1.95 cm),
head diameter (13.55 cm) and 100 seed weight (4.88 g) over control
which was on par with 150 % RDF, 100% RDF with FYM (5 t ha-1) and
Trichoderma and soil test value based NPK along with limiting
micronutrient boron. Similar trend was observed in uptake of major
nutrients (103, 26 and 116 NPK kg ha-1). Application of soil test value
based NPK along with limiting micronutrient boron recorded higher B:C
ratio (3.43).
