dc.description.abstractThe study was taken up in purposively selected village Karnoli of Hisar district (Haryana) to pin-point a.s to what development actually took place during 'Seventh Five-Year Plan• period (1985~90) at the village level and what were the difficulties encounterad in the process of village development. The specific obectives ot the study were (1) to develop a profile of the village Karnol1. (ii) to determine the .developmental programmes carried out in the village during 'Seventh Five-Year Plan (1985•90)', ) to work out the spec:l!1 c: village developmental needs in the light out existing status, (iv} to delineate the constraints whchi<:h impede the developmental work in the village and, v) to develop a suitable strategy for village uplifttment and better life. The data were collected from 100 heads of families besides consulting .relevant ?"(!cords. An Instrument of observation was developed keeping in view the objectives of the study. The profile of village Karnoli indicated that sufficient resources in form of human resources, land, livestock and facilities like irrigation were available in the village. However. the Villa~e has yet to develop to the desl.:red level as the status of amenities and public services was not upto the mark. Funds provided for the development programmes during the 'Seventh five year Plan' period (1935-90) were not sufficient enough to bring about the needed level of development.en_US
