dc.description.abstract | Renal cysts are epithelium-lined cavities filled with liquid of various composition. Polycystic kidney is defined as a genetically determined cystic lesion of either the autosomal-dominant (ADPKD) or autosomal-recessive forms (ARPKD). Two non-descriptive and a German shepherd dogs were diagnosed with unilateral polycystic kidney disease by abdominal ultrasonography. Functional loss and development of end stage renal disease (ESRD) was seen in a five year old female non-descriptive dog but no signs of renal impairment was seen in remaining two dogs. | en_US |
