Abstract
The study entitled, “Impact of Beauty Culture Trainings on beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana” was conducted by covering one training partner in Hisar district of Haryana state purposively. 120 beneficiaries were selected randomly by covering 4 training centre under training partner. Independent variables include socio- personal, economic, psychological and communication variables and knowledge, attitude, and adoption were dependent variables for the study. Most of the respondents were from age group of 20 – 30 years, belong to scheduled caste, having medium family educational status, residing in rural area and had small sized nuclear type of families. Majority of the respondents were having monthly income between Rs.20, 001 – Rs. 30,000 and labourer as their family occupation whereas, majority of the respondents were students and had medium level of material possession. Further, majority of respondents were having medium level of change proneness, risk orientation and high entrepreneurial motivation. Most of the respondents were having medium mass media exposure, localite and cosmopolite sources of information utilization. Further, results indicates that maximum utility score of training on beauty services was highest score for makeup and least for hair treatment. Majority of the respondents were satisfied with coverage of subject matter, methodology used, working environment and utility of training material, practical sessions. Most of the respondents were also satisfied with quality of trainer and subject matter of the training programme. After exposure to training, majority of the respondents had acquired high level of knowledge on facial and makeup respectively. More than half of the respondents showed favorable to most favorable attitude towards beauty culture training. Overall impact of training in term of gain in knowledge, change in attitude and symbolic adoption was found of medium level. Major constraints were economic and personal constraints as perceived by the beneficiaries towards beauty culture training. Age, education and monthly income of family were found to be significantly associated with effectiveness and impact of training.
