dc.description.abstract | The study records the effects of feeding hydroponic fodder on milk yield in dairy cows. Sixteen (16) crossbred milch animals reared under intensive system of management were fed with hydroponic fodder and compared with control animals. The results indicated that 7.5% increase in milk yield of group fed with hydroponic fodder than other group. Similarly, 9.4% and 6% increase in milk fat and SNF content was also observed after feeding hydroponic fodder. The results indicated that differences in milk yield and SNF percent obtained for the group fed with hydroponic fodder were highly significant than the group fed with conventional green fodder. Hence, supplementation of hydroponic fodder could be an effective solution for fodder scarcity. | en_US |
