Abstract
Emu is one of the big bird of ratite family, reared in Australia and now reared in India. As this bird is monogamus one, it post more cost of production. In order to reduce the cost and maintain elite male germplasm, the artificial insemination (AI) technique is the only choice. It is a powerful tool for rapid genetic improvement and it has been major component in reproduction of many avian species and it is extensively used in commercial poultry production. Many authors tried AI of emu in temperate countries, but this is one of the pioneer study in tropical climate like India.
